Join the 2012 Bill of Rights Day Haiku Challenge!

Haiku can make you closer to Hawaii - participate in the 2012 Bill of Rights Day Haiku Challenge, announced by the American Civil Liberties Union of Hawaii!

December 15, 2012 marks the 221st anniversary of the ratification of the Bill of Rights! Flex your poetic skills to have some fun, think about the Constitution, and help everyone celebrate this amazing milestone.

1. Choose an Amendment (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Bill_of_Rights)
2. Meditate upon a deep truth about the Amendment you chose.
3. Use your zen-like mastery of words to craft a haiku (5 syllables, 7 syllables, 5 syllables – see example below)
4. Send it to the ACLU for all to enjoy! (email: office@acluhawaii.org, mail to P.O. Box 3410 Honolulu, HI 96801, Twitter @acluhawaii, or post on our Facebook wall: acluhawaii)

Secure in my house

- Entries will be published on the ACLU of Hawaii website and Facebook, etc.
- Don’t send original documents, entries cannot be returned.
- You may use your real name, a nom de plume, or be completely anonymous – just let us know your preference when you submit.
