Dear friends! The new Ambassador of the United States to Ukraine - first among other diplomats - appealed to the citizens of his host country with a proposal to send him questions - in the video format.
American clubs in Ukraine invite youngsters to respond to this call - and join the campaign aimed at creating short videos with questions from Ukrainian youth to the new US Ambassador!
We most coardially invite young people from all regions of Ukraine to participate in the campaign, especially those interested in America and relations between the US and Ukraine, who may have been in America for one of various programs, are now or had been previously involved in American or European clubs, organized by volunteers from the United States and Europe.
To do this, we ask the participants and alumni of such clubs to take the following 3 easy steps:
1) Create a short video (30 seconds max) using any equipment at hand (a video-recorder, photo-camera or a mobile phone - in case they have a video mode).
- It could be in Ukrainian, English or other languages;
- Should start with the words "Dear Mr. Ambassador, ..." (Or "Шановний пане Посол, ...) and then goes your own question.
- There should be one, short, question, easy to comprehand.
- You have be to clearly visible and audible.
- Questions should be your own (do not ask parents or teachers about what to ask - ask what you really are interested to know from the new Ambassador).
- Questions can be critical but not offensive to the plenipotentiary representative of a foreign country.
- If you want to ask a few questions - please create multiple videos.
- In the description to the video please indicate the question author's name, age, where he or she studies, name of the club (if he / she is a member), and which question is actually asked (it is desirable that you provide descriptions in Ukrainian - you can also write why you asked this question, and what do you yourself think on the matter).
- Please indicate the following keywords as the video's tags: AmClubs, Ukraine, US Embassy Kyiv.
- If the question's author does not have a Youtube account - you can upload your video to that of your club, school or friends (if they do not mind).
- If that is impossible - please send your video to the email amclubs.org.ua@gmail.com - and we'll post it on the American Clubs' Youtube channel.
3) Send an e-mail to amclubs.org.ua@gmail.com with a hyperlink (web address) to your video-question to Ambassador Geoffrey Pyatt.
- In the message, please add the words: "I approve the use of my video under this URL in making of a video mix / Погоджуюсь на використання мого відеозапису за зазначеною адресою для створення відеокомпозиції".
- If you, or someone in the club, your relatives or friends are users of Facebook.com, please post the link to your video on the Facebook page of the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine: fb.com/usdos.ukraine.
- Also, we would appreciate if could you repeat this link on the Facebook page of American Clubs in Ukraine: fb.com/amclubs.
- Our team will make a mix of the videos received in the campaign (and meeting basic requirements for quality and courtesy to the foreign country), put the subtitles - in the uniform format - with names and other details of questions' authors, add background music, etc.
- The final video will be available on American Clubs' channel on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdGL4OilVEsm97d7wbSRlrQ. Description will contain links to your original video messages. We will pass the resulting video to the Embassy and make sure that the voice of young Ukrainianі will be heard - and together we'll wait for answers! :)
Authors of the best video questions will receive the original - almost like the real ones - copies of the founding documents of the United States: the Declaration of Independence, Constitution, Bill of Rights! Other surprises are also possible!

Шановні Євроклубівці! Новий посол Сполучених Штатів Америки - вперше з усіх дипломатів - звернувся до громадян країни перебування з пропозицією надіслати йому запитання - у форматі відеозвернень.
Американські клуби в Україні запрошують відповісти на цей заклик - і приєднатись до кампанії зі створення коротких відео із запитаннями від української молоді до нового посла США!
До участі в кампанії ми запрошуємо молодих людей з усіх областей України, в першу чергу тих, що цікавляться Америкою та україно-американськими відносинами, можливо, були в США за різноманітними програмами, беруть чи брали участь в американських або європейських клубах, організованих волонтерами з Америки та Європи.
Для цього учасників та випускників клубів просимо зробити наступні 3 прості кроки:
1) Створіть підручними засобами (відеокамерою, фото-апаратом чи мобільником - якщо в них є режим відеозапису) коротке відео (до 30 секунд).
- Відео може бути українською, англійською, чи іншими мовами;
- Має починатись "Шановний пане Посол, ..." (або "Dear Mr. Ambassador, ...) і далі йти власне запитання.
- Запитання має бути одне, коротке, зрозуміле.
- Вас має бути добре бачити і чути.
- Запитання має бути ваше власне (не питайте батьків чи вчителів, про що запитати - запитайте те, що вас насправді цікавить дізнатись від нового Посла).
- Запитання може бути критичним, але не образливим для повноважного представника іноземної держави.
- Якщо є бажання поставити декілька запитань - створіть декілька відео.
- В описі відео напишіть як звуть автора запитання, скільки років, де вчиться, як називається клуб (якщо він/вона є учасником), а також яке запитання, власне, поставлено (опис бажано робити українською мовою - ви також можете написати, чому ви запитали саме це, які ваші власні думки з цього приводу).
- В переліку тегів до відео вкажіть ключові слова: AmClubs, Ukraine, US Embassy Kyiv.
- Якщо немає власного акаунту в автора запитання - можете завантажити на акаунт клубу, навчального закладу, або друзів (якщо вони не проти).
- Якщо це неможливо - надішліть відео на е-пошту amclubs.org.ua@gmail.com - ми розмістимо його на каналі Американських клубів.
- В повідомленні додайте слова: "Погоджуюсь на використання мого відеозапису за зазначеною адресою для створення відеокомпозиції / I approve the use of my video under this URL in making of a video mix".
