Our portal “American Clubs – Ukraine” commences publishing the essays, submitted to the Second Annual Student Essay Competition in support of Democracy in Ukraine, on the topic “Bill of Rights in the US: Democracy Lessons for Ukraine”.
On the late warm evening of April 2006 a young teenager standing on the steps of the U.S. Capitol addressed his American counselor:
- So, it’s been some 130 years already. And these principles are still actual.
- Yes, they are. And They, probably, couldn’t have even imagined what a difference for all farther generations to come was made.

Thanksgiving ideas
November is the month of Thanksgiving. A turkey, a family dinner, giving thanks... This is one of the ideas how to celebrate this Day at school.
Being a
participant of the round table “Eurasia/South Asia Teaching Excellence and
Achievement Program Alumni. Best Practicies and Experiences Exchange”, organized
by Cultural Affairs Section, US Embassy in Ukraine on November 16-17, 2012, I’ve got great ideas from
my colleagues of celebrating Thanksgiving in our school.
On this day people consider the things they should be
thankful for. That's why it is the perfect month for students to give thanks.
On November 27, 2012, early in the morning members of Novyi Rozdil school 4 euroclub
"Promin Europy" got big sheets of paper and colourful pens ready in the school hall. They
invited everybody to write their thanks to people they thought deserve a small
amount of recognition. Students addressed their friends, teachers, parents, the
school headmaster. Teachers wrote their Thank you to students for being
diligent.
Everybody got the opportunity to write their thoughts
on that day. It was a great fun.
The posters were displayed in the school hall during
the whole week.

How to answer the simple question of what we know about America? Often the answer is that in America there are dollars, McDonald's and Disneyland. Indeed, it is true, all these answers are correct. But is this really the true America? Do American youth live with absolutely no problems in life?
Answers to these questions and the opportunity to understand more about Americans has become possible in Omelnik Village.
